You know that part in John 21, where Peter has just been so graciously reinstated by Jesus at the breakfast on the beach, and then Peter sees the disciple whom Jesus loved following behind them and asks, "Lord, what about him?" - well after making some statements today to a friend, she kindly reminded me of that story (thanks KARA!) and I think it nicely reflected my attitude. Well it wasn't nice that that was my attitude, but what I was thinking was exactly like Peter. He was so concerned about what John was doing and was getting. Jesus' response is breathtaking, at least to me: "... what is it to you? You must follow me." *SLAP* Uh, excuse me!? You must follow me. End of story. Don't worry about what anyone else is receiving, doing, not doing, not receiving - you are to only follow me. That's it. Mmm. Lord give me the strength to follow and follow hard, after only you.
