Once in the hospital, a check up showed that she was 2.5 cm dilated and still having contractions. Her body apparently thought it was time to have the babies. The doctors gave her meds to help her stop the contractions/dilation and meds to help increase the growth of the babies' lungs if they were to be born (she's only at 27 weeks). If they would be born now, they would need a large amout of technology to survive.
I just spoke with R (3:30 pm) and he said that the contractions seem to have stopped, at least at this time. They will be keeping her in the hospital until Tuesday and after that she'll be released and put on bed rest until the babies arrive unless anything else happens. This is a bit crazy, b/c R is currently taking a very intensive Greek class and they've just moved to Chicago about a half a month ago.
So please pray for the G's - especially for L as she's laying in a hospital bed. Pray for her emotions - that she would remain in good spirits as she's at the hospital. Pray for R as he continues with his class. Pray also for C (who happens to be with grandparents in WI ... whew!) as she tries to adjust to mommy in bed all the time.
